Nigel Hawke, Tiverton, Devon
Why we chose Nigel Hawke to train our National Hunt horses.
Nigel and his family run the business with over 40 years of experience in the racing industry, as a jockey he rode well over 100 winners including at the Aintree Grand National meeting to win on Seagram in the Grand National and several winners at the Cheltenham Festivals, he is also an accomplished racehorse trainer since 1995 and all of his staff are second to none, very polite and helpful in every way possible.
Nigel has a well earned reputation in National Hunt racing and trains on his 250 acre farm with stiff uphill turf and all weather gallops where the horses have to work harder, thus getting them fit and ready for their race.
As a Grand National-winning jockey Nigel knows what is needed to produce exceptional horses and get them across the finishing line for his owners.
With one of his most notable productions being Tiger Roll, a double Grand National winner and five time Cheltenham winner.
His attitude and philosophy is plenty of fresh air, paddock turnout, open windows, routine exercise and specialised feeding regimes all goes towards producing contented and thriving thoroughbred racehorses.
Nigel welcomes all the syndicate owners to his training establishment and gives you the time of day around the yard and is very helpful and knowledgeable about all the horses in his care.
