This unnamed bay filly by Arrigo out of Country Legend offers the opportunity to become involved at the beginning of a young horse’s development. Born in 2025 and purchased by Devon Racing as part of its longer-term plans, she combines a strong German sire family with a dam who proved herself repeatedly in British point-to-points. Her sire Arrigo is a son of Shirocco and a half-brother to German Derby winner and champion sire Adlerflug. Arrigo demonstrated his own ability by winning the Group 2 Oppenheim-Union-Rennen and finishing runner-up in the Group 1 Gran Premio del Jockey Club, before beginning his stallion career. His pedigree brings considerable middle-distance quality to this filly’s background. Her dam, Country Legend, is a daughter of Midnight Legend who recorded nine point-to-point victories. Ridden by Tom Bishop for the Bishop family, she developed a reputation for enthusiastic racing and determined finishes. Devon Racing identifies this filly as her first foal, making her an interesting opportunity to follow the next generation of a successful jumping family. This is an opportunity for owners who enjoy the development of a young horse, rather than those seeking immediate racedays. She has not yet entered full training, and her future programme will depend on her growth, maturity and progress. The attraction is following that journey with Devon Racing, from her early development towards training and, in time, the racecourse.
